Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Ally is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Compliance Technology team in developing web applications and APIs using react / node. These modern applications support compliance investigation team to perform customer research with AI capabilities.

The Work Itself

  • Act as Sr developer and work with other developers in the team to provide significant contributions to develop specifications to resolve business client questions, problems, and to address enhancement needs.
  • Design, code, review, test, debug document, and support computer applications and tools consistent with established specifications and business requirements
  • Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining continuous integration deployment pipelines.
  • Write clean, reusable, scalable and secure code for deployment adhering to standard methodologies and do documentation of deliverables.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with architecture principles and standards for the various systems and components based on design patterns
  • Performing root cause analysis and helping solve technical issues
  • Instills solid focus and standard methodologies for creation and maintenance of high-quality work
  • Drives continuous improvement through coaching, pair programming, code review processes, and team discussions
  • Works closely with the scrum master and other members of the wider team to plan and develop the integration components
  • Experience in following change management and incident management processes.
  • Breakdown and estimate technical tasks and recommend implementation approach for team; ensure stories contain the right balance of technical direction, standard methodologies, and level of detail
  • Identifying and unblocking technical risks
  • Interacting and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Contributing to the successful completion of work on time and within budget
  • Interacts directly with business clients.
  • Present project artifacts to senior leadership.
  • Serves as a mentor to lower-level developers.

The Skills You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and 3+ years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 3+ year of hands-on experience with application development using Python and Node Js.
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, troubleshooting and triaging.
  • Knowledge of standard change management tools and processes, code branching/merging/commit strategies, feature branches, and trunk-based development.
  • Knowledgeable of unit and automation testing tools.
  • Strong hands-on experience using on Rest API, Python, Node.js / TypeScript, data exchange (JSON,XML).
  • Strong hands-on experience writing clean, quality, and testable applications that support rapid delivery via Continuous Integration, Delivery, and automated deployments.
  • Experience working with terraform script to create AWS objects such as (IAM roles, EC2, Lambda, S3, Dynamo etc).
  • Experience working with AWS Cloud technologies and using Dev Ops (CI/CD) pipeline in enterprise development environments and tools including - GitLab, Jenkins, JIRA/Confluence, SonarQube, Checkmarx, NexusIQ.
  • Experience working in teams with Agile approaches such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Familiar with monitoring / tracing tooling is a plus.
  • Familiar with API debugging tools, (e.g. Postman, Fiddler)
  • Exposure to working with remote teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in React Js
  • Experience in writing SQL queries

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USD

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
