Responsibilities

Technology has always been integral to our company and this role, like all team members, plays a crucial role in our company’s development and future growth. You’re a super-smart, innovative front end software engineer who will help us execute Stash’s product vision. You will work closely with Stash Hotel Rewards team members to build smart solutions for independent hotels, Stash Members, and your colleagues.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining several Stash Rewards platforms, primarily contributing to user-facing interfaces. Stash is a collaborative workplace, so we are looking for a candidate who is excited to both apply their expertise to improving our front-end code base and provide constructive input and direction as we consider how future frontend features will look and function.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain the front end of Stash Hotel Rewards. As we overhaul and modernize our primary B2C site, which runs on a Rails monolith, you will help us decouple frontend and backend services to be more flexible and open to UI/UX improvements and future mobile app development.
• Enhance and support our partner portal, providing partner hotels access to educational materials, program tools, and data insights.
• Optimize tools for partner hotels to share Stash with their guests through digital channels, including our “inline enrollment” feature and “book direct” widgets.
• Work with members of our Marketing, Member Support, and Partner Advocate teams to review, plan, and implement future UI / UX and functional enhancements.

Skills and Requirements:

The ideal candidate:

• 3+ years of frontend development experience with proficiency in JavaScript, React, jQuery, and Bootstrap. Experience with Ruby on Rails development and component libraries like Telerik is a plus
• Strong understanding of responsive design, web standards, and cross-browser compatibility
• Expertise working with frontend frameworks incl: familiarity with API integration and front-end architecture best practices
• Experience developing consumer-facing applications within the travel / hospitality industry is a plus
• Knack for getting things done without sacrificing quality
• Strong experience with agile software development techniques, developer driven testing, and highly automated test environments
• Inquisitive, self-starting, and efficient
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and an inclination to tap into the broader technology community to leverage existing solutions when applicable
• A business mind-set and team orientation
