Apprenticeships Shouldn’t Wait Until Graduation
Today’s students graduate from traditional degree programs with tens of thousands of dollars in debt. Sometimes more. They venture into the world, hoping to secure entry-level jobs, but then struggle to make connections or get interviews. The problem is that they lack meaningful work experience, which is what employers need. This disconnect is all too common. Students walk away from school with a degree in hand, but little to show for it. Meanwhile, employers can’t find the job-ready talent they need. The result is that many graduates accept unpaid or low-paying internships to get a foot in the door, all in the hopes that a permanent role will manifest.
This approach doesn’t work for students or employers.
Bletchley Fellowship offers a different solution.
Graduate with a Resume, Not Just a Transcript
Bletchley Fellowship bridges the gap between education and employment by pairing degree programs with paid apprenticeships, allowing Bletchley Fellows to pursue both simultaneously. Our parallel approach means Fellows graduate not just with academic knowledge and a degree, but also with years of hands-on experience. Additionally, Bletchley Fellowships programs can be offered at low or no cost, since the apprenticeship pays the Fellow’s tuition.
Partnering with Clarke College
One of our most exciting partnerships is with Clarke College, a new kind of institution offering a 3.5-year Computer Science degree with apprenticeships at the heart of the experience. Together, we’ve structured a program where students start their apprenticeship in their first year at Clarke. Students will contribute to real products, work on AI tools, or support internal systems, all while progressing through a rigorous academic curriculum. Students graduate as seasoned professionals with years of experience.
Bletchley Fellowship exists to make these partnerships possible. We curate connections between innovative colleges and forward-thinking companies, align educational content with industry needs, and build programs that scale.
The Future Is Collaborative
We believe that the future of education and workforce development is in partnerships between higher ed institutions and employers, and we want to build more of these partnerships.
If you’re an employer looking for reliable, long-term apprentices or a school ready to offer a more affordable and applied pathway, we want to talk.
Students shouldn’t have to choose between an education and a future.
We can build both together.
